has lately been visiting Hong Kong from Singapore, and

who has promised us a further report; but unless the

protection of the aerodrome and its approaches is directly

or indirectly involved

correspondence attached to your letter of the 30th April

which suggests this it does not seem to us that the Air

Ministry would have very much to say in the matter. Prima

facie the views of a Service Department would naturally be

against enlarging the sphere of exercise of non-British

jurisdiction in an area of possible defence importance.
